Riverlea Google map. View Larger Map Driving directions to “Riverlea” Winery/Bed and Breakfast/Receptions from the corner of the Ringwod Bypass and Warrandyte Rd If you are already travelling on Ringwood Bypass coming from the Eastern or Eastlink Freeways, firstly get into the left-hand lane then once you get to the traffic lights at the intersection of Ringwood Bypass with Warrandyte Rd (Melway 49H7) then turn left and go uphill (due North) about 800m to a T-intersection with traffic lights and a Mobil service station on your left. Turn right there, which is the continuation of Warrandyte Rd. Get into the left-hand lane and continue on for another 600m where you will come to another set of traffic lights at which you make a very slight left turn into the further continuation of Warrandyte Rd. Continue straight on thru the Ringwood North shops and thru the big roundabout at Oban Rd then down the hill past the Tennis Club on your right for a total distance of about 1.4 km. At the bottom of the hill there is an intersection with Tortice Rd on your right, where Warrandyte Rd becomes Warrandyte-Ringwood Rd. Continue on Warrandyte-Ringwood Rd where it turns left there at Tortice Rd in a long sweeping left-hand turn that marks the start of the more rural area. Warrandyte-Ringwood Rd now winds it way through another 2.8 to 2.9km before it gets to the driveway entrance to “Riverlea”. On the way you will pass thru a T-intersection with Milne Rd on your left, then a couple of other minor side roads, then you will come to a set of traffic lights at Falconer Rd. You are now exactly 1km from “Riverlea”. Go through that intersection staying on Warrandyte-Ringwood Rd. About 700 to 800m from the traffic lights at Falconer Rd you will come around a blind right-hand corner signposted for 50km/hr then down a long sweeping left-hand turn with a valley to your left, then you will see the intersection with Hall Rd coming down from the hillside to your right. About 20m past that Hall Rd intersection is the gravel driveway and gateway into “Riverlea” on your right. (Melway 35J6). You will see the white post and rail type fence each side of the gateway and the vineyard beyond that. Continue up the driveway, take the right-hand fork where it splits in two and continue round to the car-park behind the Riverlea Homestead and the Restaurant – a total trip of only about 5.8 to 5.9km from the Ringwood Bypass. If you should happen to drive past the “Riverlea” driveway entrance then only about 50 metres further on Warrandyte-Ringwood Rd you will come to an intersection with Croydon Rd on your right and a Coles/Shell service station to your left – then you will know you have gone too far and need to turn back :) |
